HAIR JOURNEY

Hello Prissyville lovers!!  Today's post is going to be about my hair. I get endless compliments about my hair all the time and also get asked numerous questions. You're probably wondering what made me get locs in the first place. My journey started back in 2005 when i was in college, so i have had them for about 9 years. It should be longer than it is now,but that's because In the 9 years i have cut my locs to about shoulder length 3 times. If not it would be way down my back. Few of the reasons for starting mine back in college was to save money and also  cut down on the amount of time i spent getting my hair styled before going to class. I began getting my hair braided until most of my permed hair slowing grew into natural hair. I chopped any remaining permed hair and one of the girls in my dorm started twisting my hair, until it eventually loced. I have changed hairdressers numerous times, which is not advisable. Please try and have one person maintain your locs, its better that way because they get to know your hair and serve you much better. I searched my archives and dug up some pictures for you. Enjoy!!

Its been a long and fun journey. If you have dread locs or thinking about getting your hair loced, don't hesitate to share your experience or concerns in the comments section. This is just the beginning. I will be doing a post next week about myths and facts about dread locs. All the hair styles in this last collage were done my current hair dresser (Rojennelle on Instagram), follow her and make an appointment. Obviously, shes GREAT!! Thank you for stopping my Prissyville

Hey girl, love your locs. I also have locs abt your length. I've noticed your's are usually curled. I use pipe cleansers but I find it dries it out. How do you curl yours?

Thanks Wyn. Yes the pipe cleaners do dry the locs, so i use rods. The cleaners however do give tighter curls. I have actually used the pipe cleaners once. I always use rods for my curls. Thank you.
